How to give good feedback

Feedback is a key element of the teaching and learning process, as it provides WBL students with information on what they have done well or not, what they can improve and how to do it. The aim is to help WBL students to know which learning and skills they have achieved and which they have not, and to decide where to put their efforts.

Feedback is a potential help offered by lecturers to students that is delivered throughout the educational process to assess situations that may occur.

Feedback skills refer to the ability to provide constructive and actionable feedback to individuals or teams.

WBL training is a teaching-learning process that promotes the acquisition of skills through conscious learning and practice. Being able to give good feedback, whether you are an academic facilitator or a company facilitator, is key in this type of process.

Knowing how to give productive feedback is a key skill for facilitators to create spaces for dialogue to identify opportunities for improvement and development of WBL training participants, as well as for co-creation and joint action to acquire the desired skills. Moreover, good feedback fosters healthy personal relationships and helps to avoid conflicts.

This skill will be very useful throughout all phases of the WBL process. Especially in all those moments of meeting with the WBL student, where you assess his/her progress in the teaching-learning process and in the learning project that he/she is developing within the company.
